CSF Publishing & Art Gallery

CSF Publishing is an independent press based in Oregon, devoted to photography, art, poetry, and literature. Established in 2005, it continues a publishing journey that began with Pierre Toutain-Dorbec in the 1970s. Over his career, Pierre has authored more than 60 books and, as a publisher, published more than 500 titles.

Pierre founded, owned, and directed Dorbec Éditions and Temps de Pose Éditions in France. During the 1980s, Temps de Pose published distinguished French and Spanish authors, including Philippe Ganier-Raymond, Pierre Joffroy, Carlos Semprún, Jorge Semprún, and Hervé Bazin. Pierre’s work as an author brought him into collaboration with prominent publishing houses in France, England, Germany, and India, and into a co-authorship with figures including the Dalai Lama.

In the United States, his publishing work continued through Claudia de Santa Fe, LLC, doing business as CSF Publishing, in New Mexico, followed by Creative Ventures, LLC, doing business as CSF Publishing, in Oregon. Across these places and chapters, the commitment has remained consistent: to bring independent voices, distinct perspectives, and carefully considered books to readers.

CSF’s catalog brings together documentary photography, artistic exploration, poetry, literature, and stories for younger readers. It follows the traditional publishing model, paying royalties to its authors and supporting the work of writers and artists.

Alongside its publishing activities, CSF’s art gallery presents photography, painting, and sculpture, including limited edition photographic prints and original works. Books and visual art share a place here as ways of observing the world, preserving experience, and giving expression to imagination.
